The French Independent Authority to Protect Audiovisual Communication Freedom : CSA, has launched the Women Right’s Committee, the 14th of November. Chaired by Sylvie Pierre- Brossolette, and co-chaired by Françoise Laborde this committee is composed of fifteen members, including nine women for six men. It notably includes four former lchairmen of public broadcasting , Michèle Cotta ( also former President of CSA ), Marc Tessier, Jean- Paul Cluzel and Jean -Pierre Cottet , the anchor man Jacques Sanchez . Other personalities include a producer, Carole Bienaimé -Besse ( C.B.B. entertainment ), a politician, MP Nicole Ameline (UMP ), two business leaders , Isabelle Bordry ( FrenchWeb ) and Mercedes Erra (Havas Worldwide ), three academics, Alain Chenu , François Fatoux and Janine Mossuz - Lavau , actress , Eva Darlan , sports , fencing champion Laura Flessel - Colovic and a conductor, Laurence Equilbey .
The committee , which will meet every three months , will be asked " to assess in particular how best to combat stereotypes in TV programmes and better ensure fair representation of women in the audiovisual media," said CSA to Satellifax .
At this first meeting , Sylvie Pierre- Brossolette presented the work of the Working Group and future objectives , including the implementation of the bill on the rights of women, which will increase the powers of the CSA has she said.
